Outrigger Canoes

watercolor

These outrigger canoes are between Chamorro Village and Agana Marina. I was interested in their bright colors and sleek lines. They were so colorful propped neatly under the palm trees.

Red Hibiscus No.3

12x16
soft pastel

This Red Hibiscus was done in soft pastel. The others I painted were done in watercolor. I have been selling some of my artwork at a local farmer/gift market at Chamarro Village. I painted this one, on my easel, while on location. Chamarro Village is a popular shopping location for both tourists and locals.

Carabao at Aniti Point

watercolor
11 x 14
2010

Carabao are commonly seen around Guam. They are a domesticated water buffalo. They are a farm animal used for pulling plows or carts and also haul produce. They can also be found in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Southeast Asia. I spotted this one just north of the village of Umatac.
