Nahono Tsuruga is a writer for a famous online Jananese tour guidebook -Chikyuu no Arukikata. She has written a lovely article about my space at Chamorro Village. I sell my artwork there at the Wednesday night market. She is also a gifted photographer and had a few of her photos in the University of Guam Creative Hands Pacific 2010 Exhibit, which is where we met. To read this article, open the link. It is written in Japanese but you can translate the page with bing translator once you open it.

Curiosity

watercolor on paper
11 x 14

My son serves as a model for this painting. I painted from a photo reference taken when he was about 18 months old. I have always enjoyed this image and how it seems to capture his curiosity and fascination with world around him.

Two Lovers Point no.2

soft pastel on paper
12 x 16

This painting can be seen on my easel in the previous photo from Chamorro Village. I started this painting while selling paintings from my space at the Wednesday night market
This is a view of the famous Two Lovers Point from Ypao Beach. This is the site of an ancient Chamorro legend. It tells of two lovers that were forbidden to be together in life. They chose to leap together from the cliffside, to their deaths, so they could be tegether for all eternity.

Chamorro Village

So here I am selling some of my art, at the local open air market, called Chamorro Village. On my easel, you can see I just finished a pastel painting of a local landmark called two lovers point. I was painting from a reference photo I took from a viewpoint at Ypao Beach.

ready to rain

watercolor 2011
12 x 10

This image is from the rocky area along the northern end of Gun Beach (Guam) near the gun. I was there for the afternoon to swim with my family. The dark clouds rolled in quickly bringing rain. The rain was warm so we continued to swim, having just as much fun.
