Clinging to the Reef

watercolor 11x14

While diving in Yap, I came across this blue starfish clinging to the reef. The cobalt blue color of these starfish is so vivid it almost doesn't seem real. I never tire of seeing these.

Pink Hibiscus -SOLD

I am pleased that this painting has found a new home. I sold this while working at the exchange on Anderson Air Force Base, here on Guam. Thanks Eric! I hope you and your wife enjoy it as much as I enjoyed painting it.

Eric if you happen to read this, please email me. I forgot to give you the "original painting" certificate. So sorry. I can mail it or bring it next time I am at the exchange.

A Gentle Giant (Manta Ray)

watercolor on paper 11x14
2011

(photo of me hanging onto the reef)

I saw this manta ray while scuba diving in Yap during spring of 2011. He was visiting the cleaning station where I was lingering. He was one of several that I saw that day. We were up close and personal in only 20 feet of water. This gentle giant had a ten foot wing span and was ever so graceful. They put on quite a show for us. What a treat!

Yellow Hibiscus

watercolor on paper 11x14
2011

Yellow Hibiscus flowers can be seen all around Guam. Instead of using one of my own references, this flower was painted using a photo reference borrowed from my dear friend. Thanks Sandy!

SOLD

I am proud to say this "Red Hibiscus" painting was auctioned at the pray for Japan fundraiser. I received a nice message from the buyer telling me how much she loves it. I was so glad to hear from her as I didn't know who bought it. I am happy 100% of the money went toward a great cause. Thanks!

SOLD

This turtle "under the sea" painting has found a new home to a buyer in Texas. This painting was a lot of fun to paint. I hope to paint more sea turtles from the many underwater photos I have taken during this past year.

Talafofo Falls

soft pastel on paper, 11x14
2011
This waterfall is one of the many beautiful waterfalls found on Guam. There is a trolley car on a zip line to take you there. It also has two suspension bridges to cross as you tour the falls. This painting shows my husband, son and daughter admiring the falls.

University of Guam Magazine, Spring 2011

I am pleased to post the spring 2011 issue of the University of Guam magazine. They have chosen an image of my "Inarajan Bay" painting for the magazine cover. This painting was displayed in the Creative Hands Pacific 2010 Exhibit at the Isla Center for the Arts from Nov. 18, 2010 through January. 14, 2011. I am very thrilled and excited as this is my first time to be on a magazine cover!! The original painting has found a home with Mr. Dan and his wife in California. Thanks Dan!

Women's Art Show

We had a good time at the 6th Annual Women's Art Show. I submitted 5 paintings. It was interesting to see works presented by various artists on Guam. I saw paintings, photographs, pottery, scultpures, quilts and more. It was a good opportunity to mingle with other artists around the island.

Two Lovers Sunset

watercolor 11x14
2011

This painting shows another view of Guam's famous Two Lovers Point, at sunset. The outrigger canoe club can commonly be seen during this time of day, practicing for races. This painting was another commissioned piece done for Dan Bellomo, courtesy his photo. I hope these paintings serve as great momentos of his time served on Guam. I wish him well with his next tour of duty.
Thanks Dan!
