Plumeria Trio

watercolor 11x14
2011
They have a gentle sweet fragrance that grows stronger at night. The plumeria, noted for having 5 simple teardrop shaped petals, can be found in many colors. They are beautiful when worn behind the ear. I found this one among the flower gardens in the condo where I live.

Island Girl

watercolor 11x14
2011
While looking through my photos for more starfish to paint, I came across this photo, I had taken last spring. I had shot a few photos of the starfish as seen through the water but she insisted on holding it up so I could get a better view. She had such charm and charisma, I wanted to paint her as well. We were at Gun Beach on Guam.

Peek-A-Boo

watercolor 11x14

I saw this anemone fish while scuba diving in Micronesia. He was trying to hide by concealing himself in the anemone. Suddenly, he stuck his head out to have a peek. I quickly snapped a photo of him. I used the photo to render this painting. He was so cute!

Little White Dog

watercolor 5x7

A very dear women from Japan came by to see my art exhibit, while at DFS Galleria on Guam. She asked if I could paint her little white dog. Her little dog was so cute I couldn't resist. Using the photo she had on her cell phone, I rendered this painting. This was a fun.

Under a Red Striped Umbrella

watercolor 11x14
2011

This is part of what I saw during my afternoon at Ritidian Beach on Guam. This is one of the beautiful beaches on Guam as it is known for its soft sugar sand and turquoise crystal clear water. These children were playing in the sand under their red striped umbrella.

Clinging to the Reef

watercolor 11x14

While diving in Yap, I came across this blue starfish clinging to the reef. The cobalt blue color of these starfish is so vivid it almost doesn't seem real. I never tire of seeing these.

Pink Hibiscus -SOLD

I am pleased that this painting has found a new home. I sold this while working at the exchange on Anderson Air Force Base, here on Guam. Thanks Eric! I hope you and your wife enjoy it as much as I enjoyed painting it.

Eric if you happen to read this, please email me. I forgot to give you the "original painting" certificate. So sorry. I can mail it or bring it next time I am at the exchange.

A Gentle Giant (Manta Ray)

watercolor on paper 11x14
2011

(photo of me hanging onto the reef)

I saw this manta ray while scuba diving in Yap during spring of 2011. He was visiting the cleaning station where I was lingering. He was one of several that I saw that day. We were up close and personal in only 20 feet of water. This gentle giant had a ten foot wing span and was ever so graceful. They put on quite a show for us. What a treat!

This painting renders a distant view of Two Lover's Point from the shore, as these local Guam sailors set sail on their Proa.

Yellow Hibiscus

watercolor on paper 11x14
2011

Yellow Hibiscus flowers can be seen all around Guam. Instead of using one of my own references, this flower was painted using a photo reference borrowed from my dear friend. Thanks Sandy!

SOLD

I am proud to say this "Red Hibiscus" painting was auctioned at the pray for Japan fundraiser. I received a nice message from the buyer telling me how much she loves it. I was so glad to hear from her as I didn't know who bought it. I am happy 100% of the money went toward a great cause. Thanks!
